Born and raised in southern Ontario, Michael Welch is a graduate of World Impact Bible Institute, St. Catharines, Ontario.

Following Bible School, he planted and pastored Word of Life Church in Guelph, Ontario, and in 1999, was called to pastor Capital City Church in Ottawa.  His wife Lynda works alongside him as co-pastor, and they have one daughter Melissa.

Prior to be called to pastor, he enjoyed a career in sales, farming, and owned his own restaurant.  Pastor Michael brings the wealth of experience gained in these areas to the Capital City Church and other ministry responsibilities.

During the past seven years, Capital City Church has grown from a few people meeting in a movie theatre, to a consistently growing membership.  The church is now located on 95 acres of land purchased in 2001, and worships in their new facilities built in 2005.  Pastor Michael’s vision is to build an effective church in the nation’s capital that will affect the nation of Canada.
